WHAT IS STATIC PRESSURE ?

1

Static pressure is a measure of resistance to airflow as a fan pushes or pulls air through a duct. It is measured in inches of water gauge, such as 0.1” w.g. To show the resistance is equal to raising a column of water 0.1” or one-tenth of an inch.

WHAT IS CFM ?  (Cubic Feet per Minute)

2

CFM is a unit of volumetric capacity. It is commonly used by manufacturers of blowers. This is cubic feet per minute.

WHAT ARE AIR PERFORMANCE CURVES ?

3

Air performance curves are graphs showing air flow characteristics: airflow (cfm) versus static pressure (in. wc).

HOW DO YOU READ AN AIR PERFORMANCE CURVE ?

4

The vertical axis (Y axis) is pressure (inches water or pascals). The horizontal axis (X axis) is flow (CFM or M3H). The curve displays the fan delivery characteristics of specific pressure/flow points.

ARE YOUR FANS DYNAMICALLY BALANCED ?

5

Yes, our fans are balanced in two planes while running, do not remove balancing weights on the impeller.

WHAT TYPE OF MOTOR IS USED IN YOUR FANS ?

6

All our fans incorporate a brushless permanent split capacitor motor (PSC).

WHAT IS A PERMANENT SPLIT CAPACITOR MOTOR ?

7

Permanent split capacitor motors (PSC) motors require an external capacitor to be connected to the motor circuit.

ARE YOUR FANS SPEED CONTROLLABLE ?

8

VTX Series, V-Series and S-line are speed controllable with a solid state speed control suitable for (PSC) motor. We recommend the brand KB electronics, vari-speed or dial-a-temp

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM OPERATING TEMPERATURE FOR INLINE FANS ?

9

-25°C / -13°F  to  60°C / 140°F.

CAN THE FAN BE MOUNTED HORIZONTALLY ?

10

Yes. The orientation of the fan will not affect its performance; the fan can be mounted in any position.

WHEN AIR COOLING LIGHTS, SHOULD YOU PUSH OR PULL YOUR AIRFLOW ?

11

We recommend pushing the air through your air cooled lights to avoid overheating your fan.
